MANCHESTER-CHESTER-MANCHESTER CYCLOSPORTIVE SUNDAY APRIL 21st

Welcome to Manchester Chester Manchester Cyclosportive. We have three great routes 30 miles 60 miles and 100 miles designed by experienced local club cyclists.
Starting at Poynton Leisure Centre the ride takes to riders across the Cheshire Plains through Delamere Forest near to Chester on a circular route paste Beeston Castle and back to Poynton. All three routes are relatively flat, there are some small hills and undulations but no big hills. Fabulous countryside and some very quiet roads especially around Delamere and Beeston Castle

New features this year include an event commentator and a riders village. We have invited bike companies and local bike shops to come and set up a stall to sell and promote their products. Already signed up our In Gear , Threadgolds Cycles, Neil Orrell Cycles, High 5 Nutrition, Sportive Nation, CIOCC



You do not need to be in a cycling club to enter the event. You just need to be fit enough to get round. We have three routes to suit all abilities. Have road worthy bicycle (road, hybrid or mountain bike) and a helmet.
The event is insured  by Cyclosure one of the countries leading cycle event insurers. We have support vehicles around the course with friendly event crew who are there to help.
Riders are set off in small groups, your number is scanned at the start and at the finish, times are published on the website on the Monday following the event

We do accept entries on the day if there are places available. All we ask is that you turn up early with an entry form and route map which you can download from the website to help us get you through registration.

Event Information
Registration opens at 6.30 am closes at 7.45am
Event Starts at 8.00 am closes at 8.30 am

In registration for riders who have entered online you have already signed on so it's just a matter of picking up your number, there is nothing to sign. We will publish the start sheet a few days before the event. It will speed registration up if you check your number before hand.

Make sure you have downloaded and printed of your route maps.

Riders Briefing
A riders briefing will be published on the website prior to the event. It will also be emailed out to riders after entries have closed.

Car Parking
There is ample car parking at the Leisure Centre and the Secondary School next door . We also have an over flow car park at the Primary School around the corner which has a short walk way back to the Leisure Centre. Please follow the directions of the Leisure Centre staff who are there to help you

Polite Notice
We would prefer you NOT to park on the road outside the Leisure Centre.If you do opt to park on the road outside the Leisure Centre please do not obstruct the driveways of the local residents as you will get a parking ticket and may have your car towed away







Electronic Timing
We use a Barcode electronic timing system. The barcode is printed on your number. In order for our scanners to read the barcode it is important to attach your number to your handlebars, do not to obstruct it and to keep it as flat as possible.




Feeding Station
There will be a feeding stations at half distance on each of the three routes where we will have the usual favourites High 5 Energy Gels, Bananas, Flap Jacks, High 5 Energy drinks, Fruit Juice and Fresh Drinking Water


Signage
We use a Black Arrow on a Florescent Yellow background to sign the route. We also mark the roads with a RED arrow using temporary spray. The Route signs are put out just before the events and are checked on the morning of the event. We also have a vehicle that proceeds the riders making sure the signs are still in place. Everything to keep on the right track.

In line with other Cyclosportive Events we do not offer refunds but if you are unable to ride you can transfer to one of our other events later in the year. Transfers must be done before the online entries close prior to the event.

We are now on Twitter you can keep up to date with the latest news by following us. This can be helpful for any last minute changes we might have to make due to weather conditions or road works immediately prior to the event.
SPORTIVE TRAINING CAMP 3rd 4th and 5th May

Cycle Training weekend designed specifically for Sportive Riders. Come and train like a pro for the weekend. Organised cycle rides based on ability lead by experienced cycle coaches on quiet country roads around Beeston. Cycle Coaching seminars by Mercury Performance Coaching, Skills Training. Question and Answer sessions. Support staff and vehicles during the day.  Accomodation is at the Conway Centre near Beeston Castle.
A complete fully supported training weekend that will give you the knowledge and skills to understand how to prepare for this seasons goal events
